Times Wire Reports
.
Suspected crime boss Diego Montoya was sent to the United States to face charges of smuggling hundreds of tons of cocaine.
Authorities say Montoya, known as Don Diego, led a gang that supplanted the Cali cartel. He was captured last year when police raided his farmhouse and found him hiding in a ditch dressed only in his underwear.
Montoya is wanted in Miami on charges that include money laundering and murdering a witness. He has not been tried in Colombia, where he is accused of hundreds of killings as well.
