Our money, their agenda

Re “Legislators offer same old same old,” Column, Dec. 11

I don’t feel very tyrannical (despite what governments do with my money). And, based on the past, apparently two-thirds is not hurdle enough to protect us in the minority from being overruled by those who still feel generous with other people’s money, if not their own.

California’s state income tax is among the nation’s highest. In Los Angeles, if George Skelton’s kind have their way, the sales tax will be more than 10%.

Our lottery is a tax on the poor, the math-challenged and the desperate. Nearly everything we do is taxed. We are taxed when we work, when we interact in the economy, when we travel, when we communicate and when we seek shelter.

Politicians burn through our money as if assured that the quicker they spend it, the sooner they can ask for more. You don’t need to be an inbred GOP legislator to recognize that enough is enough.
