Blast kills 20 at northern port

An explosion killed at least 20 people and wounded 100 more in the northern Somalia port of Bosaso, where migrants from Somalia and Ethiopia begin a dangerous crossing to Yemen, an official said. The cause was not immediately known.
Thousands of people fleeing poverty and violence risk the passage across the Gulf of Aden, and hundreds die in the attempt each year when boats, often overloaded, capsize or sink.
