Program change: Illness has forced pianist Viktoria Postnikova to withdraw from concerts by the Los Angeles Philharmonic led by her husband, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, at Walt Disney Concert Hall. For the programs tonight and Saturday, Rozhdestvensky will substitute Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with Tchaikovsky’s “Capriccio Italien” and the Polovtsian Dances from Borodin’s “Prince Igor.”

On stage: “Beethoven, As I Knew Him,” a new solo play by Hershey Felder, will kick off the 2008-09 season at the Geffen Playhouse. Felder previously portrayed composers in “George Gershwin Alone” and “Monsieur Chopin” at the Geffen last year.
