NEW IN TOWN

Acclaimed organic chef and caterer Akasha Richmond has opened a namesake restaurant and bakery in Culver City’s historic Hull Building. The all-natural New American cuisine is complemented by the green choices Richmond made when it came to the urban-chic interior design. Limestone counter tops, hemp-covered banquettes, reclaimed barn wood, recycled ceiling insulation, LED lights and biodegradable cleaning products all play a part in making Akasha an eco-conscious dining experience. “It all fits in with the food,” Richmond says. “You can’t have this kind of food without making it a complete effort--this is something you couldn’t have done 20 years ago.” 9543 Culver Blvd., (310) 845-1700
