Chill. That writing wipes right off

Share

A dry-erase refrigerator? That’s Jot, an Amana model just landing in stores. Whereas traditional white refrigerators harbor smudges if someone writes on them, Jot’s dry-erase surface wipes clean, Amana spokeswoman Audrey Reed-Granger says. It’s magnetic too.

Jot’s suggested retail price is $549. The product is aimed at hip urban shoppers and families looking for a second refrigerator, perhaps for a playroom. It follows other new approaches: Jenn-Air has developed an oil-rubbed bronze door, Sub-Zero has a carbon finish, and Dacor’s Preference line has glass fronts in blue and green.
