Mail-in ballots may be faulty
Some voters might need to replace their vote-by-mail ballots due to faulty production, election officials said Friday.
The county’s Registrar of Voters received calls Friday from approximately 50 vote-by-mail voters who said that sections of their Feb. 5 election ballots came apart when they were opened.
The company that prints the ballots has reported that new equipment might have scored the ballots too deeply before they were folded, causing parts of the ballots to separate when opened.
Voters who received a defective ballot should contact the Registrar of Voters at (951) 486-7200 or at 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside for a replacement ballot.
Similar problems have been reported in counties using the same ballot manufacturer.
