See a counselor on career change

Share

I enjoyed the many solid suggestions in Molly Selvin’s article on career change (“Charting your way into a career you really want,” Jan. 6.)

One tip the author overlooked is that career counselors can be enormously helpful for people who have no clue what career would be a good fit for them, or who envision a secret dream job but are afraid to pursue it because of a lack of confidence or incorrect assumptions.

The National Career Development Assn. has a referral page at its website, www.ncda.org, and consumer guidelines for selecting a bona fide career professional. Additional consumer advice can be found at the California Career Development Assn.’s website, www.ccdaweb.org.
