Personal liberties: In an article on government over-regulation in the Jan. 20 Opinion section, author Jonah Goldberg referred to a proposed change to the California housing code that would require all new or remodeled homes to have a “programmable communicating thermostat,” allowing state power authorities to set the temperature. State officials had dropped the proposal.
