Update -- Other than Candace Parker’s two dunks, the fans at Staples Center have had little to cheer about during the fourth quarter. The Sparks have been outscored, 195-124, at home in that span, including a combined 70-31 over the last two games against New York and Minnesota. The Sparks have not outscored any of their nine visiting opponents during the final quarter. Phoenix rallied from an 18-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat the host Sparks, 85-79, in their home opener June 6. Entering this weekend, the Mercury had the league’s top two scorers, Diana Taurasi (24.9) and Cappie Pondexter (23.6), and the Sparks had the top two rebounders in Lisa Leslie (9.5) and Parker (9.2).
