Update -- The Sparks have two home games remaining before a six-game trip followed by a month-long hiatus for the Olympics. Mwadi Mabika, who played her first 11 seasons for the Sparks before signing with the Comets in February, had arthroscopic surgery on her right knee last week and will be out four to six weeks. Another Houston player who has been in the WNBA since its first season, Tina Thompson, began the week averaging a team-high 17.4 points and is the league’s No. 2 all-time scorer behind the Sparks’ Lisa Leslie.
