Update -- With their second consecutive defeat, the third-place Sparks on Saturday fell 2 1/2 games behind first-place San Antonio in the Western Conference. Turnovers have been their latest Achilles’ heel, with the Sparks combining for 69 in the last three games. They have also lacked consistent outside shooting, converting 26% of their three-point attempts over the last eight games. That has allowed teams to sag on center Lisa Leslie. She has made five of her last 20 field-goal attempts and has been limited to single-digit scoring in the previous two losses. The Silver Stars have won seven consecutive games, with forward Sophia Young scoring at least 20 points in six of those victories.
