Shalev to head ‘Early Show’
After a tumultuous year, “The Early Show” has a new producer at the helm. CBS News President Sean McManus on Wednesday named Zev Shalev as executive producer of the morning show, three months after dropping Shelley Ross, the hard-charging executive who previously ran the program.
Shalev, who was born in Israel and studied in South Africa, had been serving as interim executive producer of “The Early Show” since last month. He first joined the program in March as a senior broadcast producer after producing news and entertainment programming in Canada.
He will now have the task of lifting the ratings of the third-place morning show, which continues to lag far behind its competitors.
