ART-HOUSE DROUGHT

Re the cover story about moviegoing [“Stunning Locations,” May 22]:
Very good article. We in the Santa Clarita Valley have two Edwards Theatres that for the most part show the same movies for both locations, and they’re the wide-release movies. I envy the L.A. area for having theaters like Laemmle’s. We have to drive to L.A., Santa Monica, etc. to see an art-house or limited-release movie, because we have nothing of the sort here.
Since it’s a family-oriented area, I guess we don’t deserve a theater showing classics or limited-release movies. What a shame.
