IN LYNN SMITH’S “ ‘Weeds’ Deals With Growing Pains” [June 8], the show’s creator Jenji Kohan says about Mary-Louise Parker, “She’d never done television before.”

What? Who was that extraordinarily talented actress who lighted up the small screen in “The West Wing”? Well, yes, it does appear to be Mary-Louise Parker playing Amy Gardner, one of Josh’s secret weapons. We loved her then; we’re crazy about her now.
