The Gitmo split

Joel Pett is the Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist of the Lexington Herald-Leader. His work also appears in USA Today.

Cartoonists issued a split decision on the rights of detainees in the pen. A slim majority mocked the lock-’em-up-and-throw-away-the-key-provisions-of-the-Constitution mentality. Ed Stein’s Dubya went from the White House to the metaphorical Big House, and Pat Oliphant got credit for serving up caricatures that really did justice. But John Trever got his nose out of (the) joint, slamming the Supremes for accessory to a terror-cell bust-out. Wait a minute. Is that a baseball? Now that’s just un-American.
