Starbucks names new president

Starbucks Corp. has named a new president for its U.S. operations, where stores have suffered a decline in customer traffic in recent months as the economy slows.

Incoming will be Cliff Burrows, who has served as president of the coffee chain’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division. Burrows is succeeding Launi Skinner, who is stepping down to spend more time with her family, the company said.
