Humphrey loss: A column in Sunday’s Section A taken from The Times’ Top of the Ticket political blog said Democrat Hubert H. Humphrey was crushed in the 1968 presidential election by Richard Nixon. Humphrey lost the election by 510,000 votes, one of the slimmest margins in any U.S. presidential election.
