Tackling the high cost of drugs

Share

As a regular reader of David Lazarus’ column, this one struck home. (“Cost is the real drug threat,” Consumer Confidential, March 5.)

I can appreciate the incredible pressure that this can put on people and appreciate your making it a point of discussion.

Lazarus says the FDA “should be authorized to certify leading Canadian pharmacies as reliable suppliers of medications.” He paints a grim picture of the out-of-reach cost of many life-sustaining drugs. Too bad he closes with a ridiculous and unfeasible solution.
