at Boston 3, Philadelphia 2 (OT): Andrew Ference tied the score with 27 seconds left in regulation, and Aaron Ward won it for the Bruins 2:17 into overtime.

at Montreal 3, N.Y. Islanders 0: Jaroslav Halak stopped 30 shots, and the Canadiens swept the season series from the Islanders for the first time in 11 years.

New Jersey 4, at Colorado 2: Martin Brodeur stopped 24 shots in reaching 40 wins for a record seventh time, and the Devils ended the Avalanche’s five-game winning streak.

at Buffalo 6, Toronto 2: Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht each had a goal, and the Sabres moved to within one point of the Eastern Conference’s postseason cutoff.

at Tampa Bay 3, N.Y. Rangers 0: Mike Smith made 20 saves to lead the Lightning. Henrik Lundqvist made 27 saves for the Rangers, who have lost two in a row.
