Father guilty of microwaving girl
From Times Wire Reports
A father was convicted in Galveston of badly injuring his infant daughter by putting her in a microwave, with jurors rejecting his claim that he was insane at the time.
Jurors deliberated for about four hours before finding Joshua Mauldin, 20, guilty of felony injury to a child.
Prosecutors said the girl would bear physical and emotional scars for the rest of her life.
Prosecutors also told jurors that Mauldin had a history of violence and previously lied about being mentally ill.
