at Minnesota 7, Boston 6: Mike Lamb hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth against Jonathan Papelbon, who blew his second consecutive save opportunity. Delmon Young led off with a single, advanced on a sacrifice and stole third. Carlos Gomez walked and stole second. Then Lamb hit a 1-and-2 pitch from Papelbon.

Baltimore 7, at Kansas City 4: Steve Trachsel earned his first victory since April 4 and the Orioles beat the Royals for the 11th time in a row. Aubrey Huff hit a three-run homer with two out in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie. Trachsel (2-4), who was winless in his previous five starts, gave up two runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings. He lasted only three innings in each of his previous two starts, yielding 11 runs and 12 hits in six innings.

at Detroit 6, New York 5: Kenny Rogers pitched into the seventh inning and held the Yankees to two runs and nine hits before they scored three runs off Todd Jones in the ninth. New York lost for the third time in four games.

at Cleveland 6, Toronto 1: Casey Blake and Ben Francisco hit two-run doubles during a six-run seventh inning to help C.C. Sabathia and the Indians beat Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays

Chicago 4, at Seattle 2: Jose Contreras, who had yielded 10 runs in his previous two starts, pitched seven crisp innings, giving up one run and six hits.

at Texas 4, Oakland 0: Scott Feldman and three relievers combined for Texas’ third consecutive shutout to end the Athletics’ four-game winning streak.

at Tampa Bay 2, Angels 0: Brandon Wood’s one-out single in the third inning was the Angels’ only hit.
