11 killed in Panamanian copter crash

PANAMA CITY —
Chile’s national police chief was among 11 people killed Thursday when the Panamanian government helicopter they were in crashed into a three-story building here.
Gen. Jose Alejandro Bernales, 59, was on an official visit with his wife, Teresa Bianchini.
Also killed were Chilean police commanders Oscar Tapia and Ricardo Orozco, Capt. Mauricio Fuenzalida, and Tapia’s wife, Carolina Reyes.
Panamanian Justice Minister Daniel Delgado said five Panamanian officials died.
The only survivor was a local policeman.
