Bribe allegations lead to dismissal

Iran’s official news agency said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had dismissed a government official over allegations that he tried to pay lawmakers in exchange for their promise not to impeach the interior minister.
The minister, Ali Kordan, faces an impeachment hearing Tuesday after he admitted that his honorary degree from Oxford University was a fake.
Mohammed Abbasi allegedly offered legislators money to oppose the move.
