Book deal: Simon & Schuster will publish what it described as an authorized biography of Norman Mailer, written by the late author’s friend, J. Michael Lennon, a professor at Wilkes University, based on interviews and access to Mailer’s unpublished archives and correspondence.
Film deal: Universal Pictures announced plans to make a movie from the Tony-winning Broadway musical “In the Heights,” which is set in a multiethnic neighborhood of New York City. Quiara Alegria Hudes, who wrote the show’s book, will tackle the script.
