Angels’ hindsight

I don’t know what Steve Keegan of Minden, Nev., does for a living, but he needs to quit, as he is the greatest evaluator of talent in baseball history. He knew, for example, that Dallas McPherson (despite a .300+ batting average in almost every minor league season) would be bad, but that Bobby Jenks (who was 19-31 with no saves in five years) would be an All-Star closer.

Mr. Keegan, for your letter and subsequent bashing of Messrs. Moreno and Stoneman to carry any weight, it should have been written in 2004, when McPherson had 40 dingers and Jenks had a 10.42 ERA. I can’t wait for your thoughts on whom the Angels should take in the next draft. I’ll look for that in about 10 years.
