Vaccines and the big picture

Share

In the Sept. 29 article “From Parents: Doubt and Distrust,” Sarah Outlaw states that neither she nor her children has ever had the flu vaccine or the flu. Perhaps she should remember that this might be a result of the fact that those around her did receive the flu vaccine as recommended and that she and her family are benefiting from this fact.

Vaccines for childhood afflictions such as measles, mumps and polio have allowed my generation the freedom from worry of contracting these diseases, but as more parents excuse their children from the vaccine mandates, this freedom may start to disappear.
