COUNT Anne Archer among the procession of acclaimed film actresses jumping to the small screen for plum roles, in her case the new CW series “Privileged” ( 9 p.m. Tuesdays). Archer, who lives in Brentwood with her husband, producer-director Terry Jastrow, plays Palm Beach high-society matron Laurel Limoges. “She’s a brilliant, bigger-than-life woman who’s the head of a cosmetics empire,” says Archer, an Oscar nominee for the 1987 thriller “Fatal Attraction.” “It’s not like anything else I’ve ever done. Frankly, I’m having a ball.” Not that she’s given up the big screen; she just finished filming “The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, due in early ’09.

FAMILY SUPPORT: Lately on Friday nights, I’ve been going out to see my son Jeff Jastrow perform. He’s a singer-songwriter and he’s been appearing all over at great clubs like the M Bar, Temple Bar and Tangier. It’s opened up a new world for me. Beforehand, I’d probably go out to dinner at Tasca. Wonderful food, really cozy atmosphere and a great bar area.

BUY & BUY: My husband goes to a master class on Saturdays, so I go shopping at my favorite spots, like Number One Beauty Supply on Montana in Santa Monica. And there’s a terrific shoe store called Foot Candy, which has high-end shoes from designers you’ve never heard of from all over the world, and they’re incredible. After that I’ll meet my husband for lunch at the Urth Caffe. I love their quiche and coffee. Later he’ll go along with me to Zipper on 3rd, which is great for unique and unusual gifts.

EATING OUT: In the evening, I like Sona for a really elegant meal of French cuisine, a real Parisian experience. And another favorite hangout is Lucques restaurant on Melrose. And on my side of town on Abbot Kinney we like Joe’s, and there’s a new Japanese place nearby called Shima in Venice that’s really wonderful as well.

OUTSIDE: On Sundays, we’ll have brunch in the garden at the Bel-Air Hotel, one of our favorite places. It’s so California, and really nice for little celebrations. Later, we love to hike right up the street from our house along the horse trail in Sullivan Canyon. Or my husband will put on his Rollerblades and I’ll get my bike and we’ll go from the Beach Club in Santa Monica to Venice and back along the boardwalk.

DINNER & MOVIE: In the evening, we’ll go to the Apple Pan for hamburgers and then the Landmark, which is a really comfortable place to see a movie. I’ve been going to the Apple Pan since my older son, Thomas, was born oh so many years ago. And they still have the same waiters.
