3 die in clashes at Palestinian camp
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
At least three people were killed in clashes between Syrian security forces and gunmen at a Palestinian refugee camp outside Damascus, the capital, witnesses and Syrian media reported.
The unidentified group and a Syrian counter-terrorism unit clashed after a car chase through the Yarmouk camp, a witness said. Syrian media said an explosives-packed suicide belt was found and at least one suspect was arrested.
Yarmouk, with more than 100,000 people, is the largest of Syria’s 13 Palestinian camps.
