I used to despise Mr. Blackwell, but lately I found myself agreeing with him because of the outlandish trends in fashion today [“Mr. Blackwell Was First but Not the Cruelest,” by Monica Corcoran, Oct. 21]. Those celebs with their complete lack of taste deserved what they got. My favorite barb was “a Barnum & Bailey circus in a telephone booth,” which was directed at Jayne Meadows. That is what I always think when I see most of those overdressed women.
