Five people were killed in North Carolina after police say a car ran a stop sign and was run over by a tanker truck. North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Safety spokeswoman Julia Jarema says three men were killed Friday night, ages 22, 23 and 25. Jarema said two girls were also killed, ages 14 and 17.

All five were in a sedan that ran a stop sign on a highway near Dunn, about 30 miles south of Raleigh. The sedan and the truck then collided with an oncoming station wagon. The driver of the station wagon was released from a hospital Saturday. The tanker driver, 41-year-old Ronnie Vanatta Jr., was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
