Eco-constitution
Re “Ecology in Ecuador,” editorial, Sept. 2
As a native of Ecuador -- now a U.S. citizen -- I do not necessarily agree with all of the policies of President Rafael Correa.
However, I must praise Correa’s government for putting the rights of Ecuador’s unique, fragile and beautiful nature in its constitution.
Anyone who has visited Ecuador’s incomparable Galapagos Islands, its majestic Andes Sierra or its exotic Oriente (Ecuador’s Amazon jungles) is sure to applaud Ecuador’s government for proposing a constitutional referendum that, if enacted, will protect its irreplaceable natural treasures.
