Correct way to feed infants
Re “China makes arrests in formula scandal,” Sept. 16
Although it is tragic to learn of Chinese infants dying from toxic substances in formula, it is equally tragic to see the Chinese people following the United States in the widespread use of formula.
Breastfeeding would eliminate worries over deliberate formula adulteration or mistakes in production.
Use of even the best-designed and most perfectly manufactured formula places the infants who receive it at risk of increased rates of disease and death.
Infants grow and develop as they were intended when given what nature intended for them to eat: mother’s milk.
