Taliban kills policewoman

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN —
Two Taliban assassins on a motorbike shot dead a senior policewoman Sunday as she left for work in Kandahar city.
Malalai Kakar, 41, headed the city’s department of crimes against women, said Zalmai Ayubi, spokesman for Kandahar province’s governor.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.
Elsewhere in Kandahar province, a suicide bomber killed three policemen and three civilians, police said.
NATO’s International Security Assistance Force said one of its soldiers was killed in eastern Afghanistan.
