Paula Abdul’s contract as a judge on “American Idol” is up this year. Does she want to return?

Cynthia McFadden asks her that in an interview that will be broadcast on ABC’s “Nightline” on Thursday. In a partial transcript released by the network Tuesday, the entertainer did not offer a direct answer.

“I love the show, I do,” Abdul said. “I love what I do on the show, and I’m loving it more this season than ever. It’s taken me a while to get comfortable in my own skin with the show.”
