Regional home sales and prices rise in November
Southern California’s housing market showed some signs of life, both in sales and prices, in the traditionally slow month of November.
The median price paid for a Southern California home was $285,000 last month. That was up 1.8% from October and the same as in November 2008, according to MDA DataQuick of San Diego. The median is the point at which half the homes sold for a higher price and half for a lower price.
The total number of homes sold in November rose 14.7% from the same month last year, though it fell from October, as it traditionally does. Sales decreased 13.3% from October to 19,181 in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, Ventura, San Bernardino and Orange counties, DataQuick said.
