No SAG strike

Re “I am for the guild,” Opinion, Dec. 28

Ed Asner’s pro-strike Op-Ed article regarding the Screen Actors Guild strike authorization vote is sadly out of touch with the economic realities of our industry.

Why not now? Because the country can’t afford another nail in its economic coffin.

Why not now? Because the agreement being offered is just like the one accepted by the writers and directors. To offer SAG more would be unfair and undermine all future labor negotiations in Hollywood.

Why not now? Because the very fact that entitled, old, out-of-touch SAG activists want to ignore reality in pursuit of 30-year-old goals is a red flag to all professionals in our industry who are still building their careers and cannot at this time afford an out-of-date detour.
