Update: Many eyes will be on the matchup between the top two picks in last year’s draft, Tampa Bay center Steven Stamkos, who was chosen first overall, and Kings defenseman Drew Doughty. Doughty leads all rookies, as well as the Kings, with an average ice time of 23 minutes 54 seconds. He’s also blocked 51 shots, best in the league among rookies. It has not been such a smooth transition for Stamkos. He has four goals in 40 games and Tampa Bay has given up 11 more goals than it has scored when he has been on the ice.
