A nanny who was hired to take children to cultural events but instead dumped them at an unauthorized day-care center has been ordered to pay $60,000 in restitution to the families she scammed.

Roxana Villamarin pleaded guilty Friday to three misdemeanor counts of grand theft in L.A. County Superior Court.

Villamarin was sentenced to five years of probation, 240 hours of community service, anger management classes and counseling.

City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo said the 38-year-old cheated five sets of parents between 2002 and 2007 by telling them she was taking their children to museums, libraries and farmers markets.

Instead she took the children to an unauthorized child-care service in a Hollywood apartment with as many as 30 other children, where the operator charged $10 per day to care for each child.
