EvoGear.com is a collection of snowboard, ski, skateboard and wakeboard gear from a company with a conscience.

What’s hot: EvoGear started off as two people working in a garage and has grown to a team of 60. Its core values, listed as “The Great 8” on its About Us page, emphasize a commitment to the customer. The company also promises “to do amazing things both in and out of the work place.” This includes working with at-risk youth and subsidizing environmentally conscious initiatives, including transportation. Visiting the company’s website, I was drawn to its EvoTrip section, which lists international snowboard, ski and surf trips. This winter, there have been trips to Japan, Switzerland and Bali. An upcoming 14-day excursion to South America combines skiing and boarding with surfing and includes a stay in the Mission Impossible Lodge in Chile. Need to save money on gear? Don’t miss the “Super Closeouts” for brand names at discounted prices. (Many are more than half off.) Note: This site is not all about winterwear, either; it offers gear for wake boarders and skaters too. Each product has ratings and user reviews (or the option to review it yourself). If you find the same product elsewhere on the Web, EvoGear’s “Best Price Guarantee” (be sure to read for rules) will beat that price by 5%.

What’s not: In my searches, I found no trips listed in the U.S. Staying stateside might seem boring to some adventurists, but it’s also more affordable and often more realistic for those who don’t have the bankroll for a global escape.
