Last week, we asked readers to share their thoughts on today’s inauguration.

We received messages reflecting on America’s election of its first black president, Barack Obama; the challenges that Obama’s administration -- and our country -- will undoubtedly face; the Bush administration’s legacy; and even the wisdom of soliciting letters about the inauguration in the first place.
