at Kansas City 6, Chicago 4: Alberto Callaspo drove in three runs and the Royals ended the White Sox’s winning streak at seven games. It was the Royals’ first win in seven games this season against the White Sox.

at Minnesota 4, Detroit 3: Justin Morneau had four hits, including a home run and the tying single in the seventh inning to help the Twins rally. Magglio Ordonez hit a three-run home run for the Tigers in the seventh.

at Cleveland 5, Oakland 2: Ben Francisco and Grady Sizemore hit home runs for the Indians, who won consecutive games for the first time since June 11-12.

at Texas 12, Tampa Bay 4: Andruw Jones hit a home run and drove in four runs, Michael Young had a three-run double and Nelson Cruz connected for his 20th home run in support of rookie Derek Holland (2-5), who won for the first time as a starter.
