Friday through July 12: Brewers at Milwaukee

The Dodgers weren’t quite sold on Jonathan Broxton as their closer, at least for this year. They weren’t interested in signing Francisco Rodriguez for three or four years, but they did offer Trevor Hoffman a one-year contract. Hoffman signed with the Milwaukee Brewers and Rodriguez with the New York Mets, and the Dodgers will see them both this week. All three closers could go to the All-Star Game, but Broxton has held opponents to a .121 batting average and .386 OPS, converted 20 of 22 saves and struck out more batters than Hoffman and Rodriguez combined -- in little more than half as many innings.
