Re “Joe Jackson Interview Questioned,” by Maria Elena Fernandez, July 14: Who cares if a TV network or newspaper pays someone for an interview?
I don’t get why it’s such a big deal. To me, it makes perfect sense to pay someone for their time and knowledge. We pay experts to testify in court, something that can change the lives of people forever, but networks won’t pay someone to “testify” to the world with their inside knowledge?
So what if Joe Jackson was paid for the ABC interview? He should be paid. He’s bringing us inside information into his life, whether it’s true or not. I would trust someone being paid for their inside scoop more than someone who just wants to appear on TV for the exposure or notoriety.
