Simon Karlinsky obituary: The obituary of UC Berkeley professor emeritus Simon Karlinsky in Wednesday’s Section A said he had been with husband Peter Carleton for 25 years. They were together 35 years. Also, the obituary cited the book “Anton Chekhov’s Life and Thought: Selected Letters and Commentary” in describing Karlinsky’s varied experience as author, editor and translator. Karlinsky edited and annotated that book, but the translator was Michael Henry Heim.
