A $150-million fraud lawsuit against Time Warner Inc.’s New Line Cinema, filed by relatives of the late “Lord of the Rings” author J.R.R. Tolkien, must be heard by a jury, a California judge ruled.

The family members, who are trustees of the Tolkien Trust, a British charity, allege that they didn’t receive a “contractually required” share of money from movies based on the books.
