Losing trust in GM’s products

Share

Re: David Lazarus’ consumer column, “Fate of GM: This time it’s personal,” June 3:

I bought my first car, a used Chevette, after graduating college. On my way home, a dog ran in front of my car. I stopped in time and tried to honk the horn, but the horn didn’t work.

I drove back to the dealer, who said, “Next time, even if the engine falls out, you bought this car as-is.”

Over the next two years, just about every other car part broke. I have vowed never to buy another GM car -- and I doubt the wisdom of bailing out such a manufacturer.
