She’ll show you the travel-website ropes

Are you new to the Web? It’s OK; you can admit it to Rosie. RosieKnows.com offers free tutorials that show beginners how to navigate various websites, including travel sites such as SeatGuru.com and FlightStats.com.

What’s hot: You don’t have to ask your friends to come over and show you how to use a website -- again. The easy-to-follow videos are short, show you how to use the key features of a website and, most important, the woman’s voice on the videos is tolerable. Her instructions are simple without being condescending. Learn how to use TripAdvisor, Google Maps, Gas Buddy, Yelp and more. Note that the travel section doesn’t list all the travel videos it has. I found a tutorial for Kayak just by typing its name in the search bar found in the upper right-hand section of the RosieKnows home page. Orbitz, Priceline and Expedia did not have videos on their sites when I checked. The best way to look for videos is through the “Browse All” section, where they are listed alphabetically.

What’s not: It’s tough to know how current the videos are. It features Farecast as its first listing for the Travel category, but Farecast.com has become a part of Bing Travel. Rosie should remove the Farecast video until she can offer a walk-through of Bing. It would be helpful if users could leave comments and offer tips to rookie Web surfers.
