Perhaps if I were appointed to a lifetime job, I wouldn’t be concerned about ageism either.

We should take a look at downsizing the Supreme Court and getting rid of some of those old guys.

The Supreme Court decision on proving age bias in the workplace only makes it safer for employers to do what has been occurring for a long time -- get rid of older workers in favor of younger, probably lower-paid young people.

I was in the workforce from 1959 to 2006 and saw many instances over the years of age discrimination.

If there is any sort of justice, in 15 or 20 years those who benefited from age discrimination will be on the other side of the issue -- and out of a job.

Five justices of the Supreme Court who hold their jobs for life put the burden of proof on older workers to show age discrimination in a courtroom when they’re laid off or demoted. Might this be what President Obama meant about appointing justices who had in their makeup an element of empathy?
