A suspicious smell in a residential neighborhood Thursday led police to a pair of industrial-size drums of chemicals and the arrest of four people believed to be involved in manufacturing PCP, according to authorities.
Officers went to the home in the 200 block of Cambridge Street, where they found two 55-gallon drums of what is believed to be ether, said Jackie Bezart, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department. She said the chemicals posed no threat to people outside the house.
